Update – Babesiosis confirmed in the UK

A tick-borne disease that is often fatal in dogs has been discovered in the UK.

Four dogs were diagnosed with babesiosis in Harlow in Essex, who were all exercised on the same patch of land.

It has never been recorded before in the UK, and is likely to spread.

Please make sure your dog is treated with an anti-tick treatment to prevent infection.  We have two products we would recommend.  Bravecto is a tablet and lasts 3 months, this kills ticks before they have a chance to pass on the infection.

There is also a spot on treatment called Advantix that lasts 4 weeks.
