About Us

With 2 practices in the North East, we pride ourselves on being able to provide first-class care to over 10,000 customers.

Our Mission Statement

We want to keep the small practice feel for our patients and clients – you are more than just a number. At Sore Paws Veterinary Clinic you will be provided with personal service, and your pet will have individualised care. You will not be lost in the mix of a large Veterinary chain.

We want you to belong to a practice where your feel cared for, a place where each individual animal receives the very highest standards of service and attention in terms of Veterinary and nursing care. This is achieved by a combination of dedicated, knowledgeable, experienced staff, high quality facilities and medicines. We want to develop the bonds between our team and clients, we understand that pets are a part of your family.

In a time where Veterinary Practices are being bought up by corporate chains, the personal care aspect of service can be compromised. Be part of a place where your pet’s health and well being are prioritised over sales, where you are a part of our clinic community and not another statistic, become part of a place where your dedicated Veterinary team genuinely care. After all, your little friend is a part of your home, a part of your family, and here at Sore Paws, we will treat them that way.

Not all practices feel the same.

Absolutely fantastic, our first visit with our cat who has been previously looked after by another franchise vet (who didn’t have a clue and mucked his medication up) so came to Sore Paws after recommendation. They did a thorough check up and bloods for his thyroid and kidneys and explained everything in terms I understood. They explained costs etc before proceeding which was great. I definitely feel they care for our animals and I think my Labrador will enjoy his visit there

They were amazing when my puppy ingested a foreign body. Saw her as quickly as I could get her there, reassured me and operated on her a few hours later. I dread to think what could have happened. The only drawback was having to find our own transport to get her to the vet hospital overnight, as we don't drive. At least we know in future.

We moved to Sore Paws 14 months ago and it’s the best thing we ever did. The staff are second to none and make you and your pets feel valued. Dr Dan is a firm favourite of Winnie’s! She absolutely loves him and he’s brilliant with her.

Really nice friendly reception staff. Very helpful and personal. Treatment of my dogs has been very good. Don't feel pushed into anything and they are very aware of not charging for unnecessary treatment and products. Much nicer than the big corporate vets.

Just joined Sore Paws with our 18 month old Labrador. From the reception staff to the vets I can not recommend this vets highly enough. Friendly, understanding, professional, nothing at all is a problem. I never felt rushed or that I was asking too many questions and they were just lovely with Bailey our lab. So pleased I made the move from my previous vet, I’m more than happy.

We’ve unfortunately had to make three visits in 5 days, including a surgery for our poorly pup and everyone has been fantastic. From squeezing us in last minute, answering all of our questions (and dealing with us being a bit hysterical) and taking care of our older dog. We can’t say thank you enough!

First time registering our new puppy , we are long time dog owners and take a long time to choose things like vets , insurance etc and we found them to be first class in all regards , very calm relaxing atmosphere which makes the dog want to return instead of being scared and nervous. Well done everyone, see you all very soon.
