Vaccinations

Vaccinations are designed to help protect your pets against various different diseases.

Protecting Your Pet with Vaccinations

Vaccinations are essential to protect pets from potentially life-threatening diseases. We provide all core vaccines for dogs, cats, rabbits, and ferrets to ensure their long-term health and immunity.

Vaccine appointments are typically annual and include:

  • A full health check with a veterinary surgeon
  • Vaccination administration
  • An opportunity to discuss any health concerns you may have

Keeping up to date with vaccinations helps prevent serious illness and keeps your pet protected year-round.

Core Vaccinations for Dogs and Cats

Dogs
Core dog vaccines protect against:

  • Distemper
  • Parvovirus
  • Canine infectious hepatitis
  • Leptospirosis

The kennel cough vaccine is not included in routine boosters but can be added on request. This vaccine is administered as a nasal spray, and as it contains a live virus, immunocompromised individuals should avoid contact with recently vaccinated dogs for up to 6 weeks.

Cats
Core cat vaccines protect against:

  • Feline herpesvirus
  • Calicivirus
  • Feline panleukopaenia virus (parvovirus)
  • Feline leukaemia virus

To maintain adequate immunity, cats should receive a yearly booster.

Annual Vaccination Requirements

Vaccines must be given annually to ensure continued protection. If a pet’s vaccinations lapse, a full restart course may be required, involving two injections given four weeks apart to rebuild immunity.

We also provide rabbit vaccinations to protect against:

  • Myxomatosis
  • Rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHD)

Both indoor and outdoor rabbits are susceptible to these diseases, so annual vaccination is highly recommended.
